Experiencing Beimen, Jiangjun & Qigu //

Project Overview
I first came across a documentary about “Beimen, Jiangjun, and Qigu” — known locally as Bei Jiang Qi. But when I searched online, I found almost no footage that truly captured this place. So, I decided to drive south and experience these three coastal towns in Tainan for myself.
These are some of the last coastal communities in Taiwan that still hold on to their raw simplicity — fish farms, shorelines, streets swept by salty winds, and a slow, unhurried rhythm of life. Growing up in a city, this was my first time traveling alone to such a pure and honest place, and I wanted to document Tainan exactly as I saw it.
The entire piece was shot handheld, intentionally preserving the slight sway of breath and movement — to capture the most authentic warmth and unfiltered essence of the towns. This wasn’t just a trip; it was a cinematic journey to reconnect with the land, and with myself.
