This documentary follows the journey of “Hsiao Ai,” a YouTuber who transitioned from being a content creator to working as a funeral director, then moving into a managerial role, and ultimately becoming an entrepreneur. The story begins during her time working for another company, capturing her gradual shift from an employee mindset to that of an independent business owner. Along the way, she faced numerous challenges and pivotal decisions, while rediscovering her identity as a social media creator.

For a period in her life, Hsiao Ai stopped uploading to YouTube due to personal hardships. This film not only documents her professional transformation but also marks her return to content creation—it is the very first video she released after her hiatus, carrying deep personal significance.

Filmed over the course of nearly a year, the project involved extensive interviews and on-location shoots. As the producer, director, and cinematographer, I spent considerable time building trust with Hsiao Ai, gaining an in-depth understanding of her story, and carefully determining which moments should be shared and which should remain private. We also incorporated scenes from her university lecture sessions, offering a broader view of her influence and presence in different settings.

This work is more than a record of career change—it is an intimate narrative about self-discovery, starting over, and reclaiming one’s creative voice.
